CERS Events
The Center hosts the following events to share information with key stakeholders.
Summer Institute
The Center for Excellence in Rural Safety holds an annual Summer Institute
to bring together national experts to discuss technological, policy,
behavioral, and educational issues related to rural transportation safety.
Through the event activities, the Center will assemble training materials
and create policy recommendations for decision makers, as well as provide
input on the priorities of the Center.
The annual Summer Institute, held over two days for approximately
50 invited attendees, includes practitioners, policymakers, and academics
in the field of transportation safety, with speakers being chosen from
among them. The location is in a small urban and cost-effective
location that rotates between the regions of partner organizations.
